Good health practices, sportsmanship, self-control, self-expression and the opportunity for positive social interaction with peers are our focus as we continue to lead our students to develop the Habits of the Mind that will help them be successful in all of life. Physical Education is the ideal platform to practice some key habits, including: persisting, managing impulsivity, and taking responsible risks.
MUS Physical Education classes in grades K-3 meet twice a week for a total of 70 minutes and 4-6th grades meet twice a week for a total of 75 minute. Students in grades Kindergarten through 3rd grade learn Mindfulness as part of the PE program.

Kindergarten - 2nd Grade:
- Basic locomotor skills, group activities, spatial awareness, hand eye coordination and cooperation are emphasized as important lifelong skills.
- Sportsmanship and positive attitude are always emphasized.
Third – Sixth Grade:
- Athletic and physical fitness skills, fitness testing (including strength, flexibility, endurance and agility) and rules of basic sports are developed, always stressing positive attitude and sportsmanship.
